Please don’t leave! Connecticut tax agency keeps close watch on state’s super-rich – They are correctly aware that many victims of financial rape will eventually move to lower tax areas, such as down here in tax free Florida.

Remember When Taxes Used to Cause Revolutions? – Ah, the good old days, when people didn’t just bend over and allow the various levels of government to have their way with them.  It’s been quite a while since the Howard Jarvis led property tax revolt of Proposition 13 in California in 1978.  We need more of that kind of spirit.

Johnson asks how 80,000 ‘lost’ Lerner emails were recovered by IRS watchdog – The IRS coverup continues.

Is the IRS’s budget problems motivating them to outright steal money from taxpayers?
Small business owners forced to battle IRS over seized bank accounts – This is actually part of the insane and completely unconstitutional “War On Drugs” that allows law enforcement agencies to literally steal money and assets from people on the basis of mere suspicion of drug involvement. It tosses out the normal “Innocent until proven guilty” aspect of our legal system.
However, in the cases cited in this article, it appears that people are bringing this problem onto themselves by trying to avoid the filing of IRS Form 8300 for large cash transactions by obviously breaking them up into amounts just below the $10,000 threshold.  It makes them appear to be hiding something nefarious and is like waving a red flag for IRS to come and hassle them.  If the money is legitimately theirs and they can show that it all came from legal sources, they shouldn’t be afraid to just deposit the full amounts and have the 8300 forms filed.

IRS Cover-up Continues

Eric Holder’s task of covering up the IRS crimes will continue under the new Attorney General, who is just as loyal to the bHo Regime’s agenda.

Messy Tax Season Ahead – DIY Will Be Dangerous

Posted by taxguru on January 14, 2015

With all of the last minute tax law changes, as well as the ridiculous ObamaCare issues to deal with, it’s going to be a chaotic Tax Season from the side of us practitioners.  It doesn’t help any that IRS will be just as messed up as we will be.

Obamacare Problems? Now in Hands of IRS

As I have made clear over the years, I have never been a fan of people preparing their own tax returns, for their own protection.  Even with the most expensive tax software, it’s still a matter of GIGO (Garbage In, Garbage Out).  It’s similar to buying a scalpel and a book on human anatomy and assuming that you are properly prepared to perform surgery on a person.

I am once again stressing this point because I have been receiving all kinds of emails from PR firms and software companies asking me to promote their DIY tax programs.  I just can’t do that.  What is very clear is the fact that this Tax Season is going to be the worst time for tax DIYers.  Even we experienced tax pros will be having problems.  Amateurs have no chance of getting everything right.

What I can confidently predict is that we will have a lot of work redoing tax returns and straightening out DIY screw-ups.  The problem is that not all tax mistakes can be corrected with amended returns.  Some things that are done on original returns are not reversible and could cost DIYers thousand of dollars in lost tax benefits, making what they supposedly saved in tax prep fees pale in comparison.

IRS Still Attacking bHo Critics

Posted by taxguru on December 28, 2014

IRS snooping probe will carry into 2015 with unresolved questions – We can only hope that the GOP rulers in DC grow some stones and seriously investigate Lois Lerner and her merry band of IRS criminals.  If not, the rest of the IRS will have a hard time maintaining any semblance of credibility or respect.

IRS mistakenly penalizes Christine O’Donnell a second time, placed levy on bank accounts – Of course, this was just one of those many freak coincidences that happen to pop up with critics of the bHo Regime.

IRS Bill of Rights

Posted by taxguru on December 22, 2014

Because the IRS has long been  statutorily exempt from recognizing the normal Bill of Rights that we are all supposed to enjoy in every other aspect of our lives in the USA, they had to concoct their own special Taxpayer Bill of Rights to take the place of the “ancient” one from 1789.  IRS just posted an update on their Bill of Rights on their Tax Tips page and in emails to practitioners.

After receiving this latest message from IRS, I thought it would be a good idea to reflect on how well IRS has performed in living up to their proclaimed rights for taxpayers, especially in light of the crimes committed by Lois Lerner and her gang, as well as the ensuing cover-ups, that continue to this day.

Following is just the list of the titles of our rights as taxpayers according to IRS. The more descriptive details of what these mean can be found on their website.

1. The Right to Be Informed

2.  The Right to Quality Service

3.  The Right to Pay No More than the Correct Amount of Tax

4.  The Right to Challenge the IRS’s Position and Be Heard

5.  The Right to Appeal an IRS Decision in an Independent Forum

6.  The Right to Finality

7.  The Right to Privacy

8.  The Right to Confidentiality

9.  The Right to Retain Representation

10.  The Right to a Fair and Just Tax System

I would rate IRS fairly low on complying with many of these so-called rights.  The ongoing cover-ups of the Lois Lerner Gang’s crimes pretty much put the kibosh on Rights numbers 1, 4, 5, 7, 8 & 10.  The fact that her behavior has not been punished shows that these rights, while sounding so great, are just fairy tales and are actually fairly meaningless in real life application.

Or maybe it’s just a case of the IRS’s Taxpayer’s Bill of Rights only applying to certain parties and is null and void for others, such as.…

No stop to IRS criminal actions…

Posted by taxguru on December 17, 2014

As many have noticed, the GOP landslide victories last month are having zero impact in regard to stopping the lawless bHo juggernaut, including the flagrant obstructions of justice (aka cover-ups).
