Let’s hope this is the start of a trend; with pro-growth forward thinking States realizing that lower taxes encourage business activity, while the short sighted suicidal States (California, et al), continue to raise their taxes and drive productive citizens away.

As if it weren’t bad enough that the idiots who run the PRC already punish high income people with extra income taxes, they are trying to add even more. This article from the WSJ describes the new Marxist group, Courage Campaign, that is pushing for such higher income taxes that they will in essence kill their golden geese when more of the evil rich reach their breaking point and relocate to lower tax states.
Here is the Marxist video that the article discusses:
More discussion from Fox Business about this push in the PRC to confiscate more from the evil rich.
Here’s a funny Chinese animation of the attempt to soak the evil rich in the PRC:
A group calling itself the Courage Campaign is trying to win support for a millionaire tax by running an ad showing Kim Kardashian. They want the Kardashians to pay more. This is part of the plan to raise taxes on the dumbest 1 percent.

I only have a few Texas clients and have found it confusing with some of the tax law changes over the past decade. This is a good summary by Kevin Williamson of the recent history of the changes in the Franchise Tax in Texas.
Business owner said he was ‘taxed out’ of California lands to Corpus Christi – It’s always good to see stories of people who don’t just bend over and let the DemonRats fiscally rape them. Even worse than the ever growing tax burden in the PRC are the ever expanding regulations of literally every aspect of our lives.
It’s just a fact of life – Communists hate Capitalists
The Government Wants Money From Your Retirement – Since at least the Clinton regime, there have been discussions in DC about having Big Brother confiscate all or part of private retirement accounts.
IRS: 235,413 million-dollar earners – Remember that the Clinton-Gore 10% millionaire surtax that they passed in 1993 kicked in at taxable income of $250,000.
A State Income Tax for Washington State? – The spendaholics in that state have gone too far, so a tax on the “evil rich” may be on the horizon. Their $200,000 definition of who is evil rich will obviously drop down over time, as have all such soak the rich plans.
If Washington’s most famous billionaires are really worried about their state’s finances, they’d write personal checks to the government and leave everyone else alone.
New York’s Property Tax Nightmare – As long as there are evil property taxes, you can’t ever own property for real; just rent it from the government.
Calif. bases its annual inflation adjustments in various component of the tax system on the CPI changes for the fiscal year July 1 through June 30. The latest adjustments, effective retroactively for the 2010 calendar year, are now available on the FTB website.

So, it’s for real. As some others have mentioned, it shouldn’t be too long before we see similar ads from other states, as well as our friends at the IRS.
Update 2: I don’t know if this is going to become as wide-spread as the Hitler video parodies, but it has spawned a number of copy-cats, such as by this PA GOP candidate.
