The Walking Death Tax – With all of the focus on extension of the Bush Income tax rates, the WSJ has a timely reminder that the immoral Marxist grave-robbing Estate tax will return in less than a month to confiscate 55% of the net estates from those unlucky enough to pass away in 2011.

IRS Announces 2011 Standard Mileage Rates
Beginning on Jan. 1, 2011, the standard mileage rates for the use of a car (also vans, pickups or panel trucks) will be:
- 51 cents per mile for business miles driven
- 19 cents per mile driven for medical or moving purposes
- 14 cents per mile driven in service of charitable organizations

The Tax Policy Center has updated their quick and dirty Tax Calculator to illustrate what a person or couple’s income taxes would look like for 2010 and 2011 under some of the actual and proposed tax laws. If nothing else, it shows how difficult tax planning is with al of the uncertainty and incompetence in DC.
